Veiled Spaces:
MA Photography Grad Show
Today, the meaning of fog is undergoing a transformation. It is no longer viewed solely as a symbol of air pollution; instead, it has gradually become a perceptual medium through which people experience and appreciate ecological beauty. In photography, fog serves as a unique visual medium that helps make this shift in perception more tangible and visible.
In this project, fog enhances the aesthetic and atmospheric qualities of the photographs by softening the edges of objects and reducing overall visibility. While obscuring certain details of the environment, it creates a sense of tranquility, ambiguity, and poetic beauty. As a result, the photographed landscapes appear more serene, visually appealing, and ecologically harmonious, inviting viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural environment.
